What We Believe in...
Our Treatment Philosophy
At Starbridge Recovery we take the time and make the effort to “peel the onion” by exploring obvious and underlying factors that lead to drug & alcohol abuse.
Like any recovery program, we teach our clients recovery skills and help them to identify and explore the benefits of sobriety. What makes us special, if not unique, is that we look at the entirety of the individual in front of us. We look at each client as a unique individual and identify the specific issues that each client must face in order to overcome the disease of addiction.
Our clients are in a continuous state of expanding self-awareness as they develop insights about who they are, cope with challenges and identify personal goals and responsibilities, driven by our comprehensive and perpetual evaluation process.
Our objective is to provide our clients with not only better coping skills, identified resources, and support systems in their lives, but also a “life roadmap” upon discharge. This roadmap clearly spells out behaviors to engage in, in order to progress as well as personal strengths and interests to continue developing in an upward fashion. Personal limitations and areas of challenge are highlighted during treatment and factored into the equation of one’s personal goals.
What Makes Us Different?
A Personalized Recovery Experience.
Starbridge Recovery is not your typical “drug rehab” in Los Angeles, California. We strive to stand out by offering truly individualized care that aims to treat the mind, body & spirit of each and every client that walks through our doors. We understand the disease of addiction intimately. From learning how to cope with feelings to finding new passions in life, Starbridge Recovery’s boutique program in Studio City provides you with a path to recovery that works for you.
Unique aspects about our program are; structure, consistency, and learning through fun activities. Our family-style environment creates hope, a strong foundation, and bonding relationships to help open the mind and the heart and create new habits.
Our residential rehab program accepts a maximum of 6 adults at one time. This small number of clients allows for a highly individualized and extremely effective treatment for mental health issues such as trauma, depression and/or poor self-esteem that often lead to self-medication with drugs and/or alcohol.
Starbridge Recovery is located in Los Angeles, California in the Hollywood Hills area close to Universal Studios. We are a 6 bed facility in a well-designed home and beautiful environment. With a facility of this size, our clients receive a lot of individual attention and do not get “lost in the mix” as they do with some of the larger facilities.
Our objective is to provide our clients with not only better coping and identified resources and supports in their lives but also a “life roadmap” upon discharge which clearly spells out behaviors to engage in to continue progress as well as personal strengths and interests to continue to develop while personal limitations or areas of challenge are highlighted and factored into the equation of one’s personal goal towards satisfaction.
Our treatment topics are unique and specialized to fit the culture of our clients. Our curriculum includes exploring these areas and more:
- Comprehensive Assessment
- Improved Coping Skills
- Fear Management
- Work and Play-Identifying Career and Personal Interests
- Building Healthy Relationships
- Developing Purpose and Self-Concept
Clinical outcomes are broadly agreed, measurable changes in health or quality of life that result from treatment. Constant review of our clinical outcomes establishes standards against which we continuously improve all aspects of our treatment.
Measuring change using clinical outcome measures is one way to monitor the clinical impact of the treatment services provided to clients. This information provides quality assurance around our clinical effectiveness and is extremely useful to all clinicians.
How to measure clinical outcomes?
Starbridge Recovery constantly strives to improve our client’s care experience. All aspects of this, from the improved behavioral health of an individual to improved treatment experience, can be measured.
Outcome measures can also be reported by clients and their families. Measures of treatment outcomes from the client’s perspective is an important part of Starbridge Recovery’s outcomes measurement process because they provide a client-led assessment of their overall treatment experience.

Dr. Scott Courtney, MD
Lisa Sanding, LMFT
Danny Rizkallah grew up in California where he struggled with substance abuse after high school. After no real direction in his life for 11 years, Danny realized that he needed to make some changes and began his road to recovery. About a year into his sobriety, he found employment as a sober living manager. This position stuck until he was hired at BLVD Treatment Center as a Residential Technician. Danny quickly proved himself to be incredibly devoted to the clients he was serving at BLVD Treatment Center and was promoted to Program Manager in 2018 at Iris Healing Center. Danny continues to be active in the recovery community and still attends 12 Step meetings, works with a sponsor, and even sponsors many others. In his free time, Danny enjoys watching sports, hiking, and video games. He spends as much time as he can with his two dogs, Jackson and Pumpkin.

“When people ask me what I do for work and I tell them I’m the Program Manager at a residential detox treatment center, their follow-up question tends to be, ‘Okay, but what do you do there,’ to which I reply, ‘My job is to see and hear people.’ What I love most about my work is providing those who have previously felt invisible an opportunity to be recognized and acknowledged.” Courtney struggled with substance abuse for 17 years, which has made her deeply passionate about recovery, and empathetic toward those who are newly experiencing it. Courtney takes great pride in her role at the Detox Treatment Center and can’t imagine working for a different employer. In her free time, Courtney enjoys writing, and leads a writing-based group at the house.
